After years of having a garden and HATING having to spend hours upon hours of weeding, I did some research and found that having a raised row garden cut my weeding down exponentially. By building up layers of dirt, compost, and straw into designated planting rows and laying mulch and wood chips in our walk areas, we have created a healthy, manageable and aesthetically pleasing garden space. We we still get weeds, yes. Weeds are inevitable; but, weeding has become more of a “pick that weed as I’m walking past”, as opposed to spending endless hours picking weeds.
